A rocky road…
Well today after we did our little hike up to Lily Pad Lake, we decided to go for a drive up to the old town of Montezuma and over Webster Pass. Montezuma was discovered by miners and they settled there during the silver boom in 1863. The road to Webster Pass is one of the many extreme jeep roads in the area. Webster Pass was opened in 1878 and Montezuma hit its peak in 1880 when the population reached 800 and the town was incorporated in 1881.
